LIGHTROOM CLASSIC – 3-NIGHT CLASS – JUNE 12th, 19th, 26th

This class is divided into three segments each approximately 2 hours in length:
- Setting Computer and LrC preferences, Importing Images, Organizing, Naming, Keywording, Denoising, Cropping, and Enhancing (creating pixels) Photos.
- Adjusting BasicExposure(Profiles, Presets, Basic Develop Sliders);Utilizing the Tone Curve, Upright, HSL, and Detail Panels.
- Advanced MaskingTopics
This class requires Adobe Lightoom Classic (LrC) version 13.0 or later and basic computer skills. (Please note that other versions of Lightroom will not be addressed or utilized due to time constraints.) Class notes, photos, and a Zoom link will be sent prior to each class.
Online students can follow along using one of the following techniques: EITHER, use two screens attached to one computer with the Zoom interface on one screen and LRC on the other…OR, use two computers with Zoom on one and LRC on the other… OR, use one computer and alternate between the Zoom and LrC screens (not ideal). The class will be recorded, so you can watch without attempting to follow along and then later utilize the recording to watch a segment, stop the recording, and make the adjustments in your copy of LrC. Q&A is encouraged and if time permits, I can look at or edit some of your images.
Ron has experience as an electronic design engineer, project manager, and quality systems director and has been associated with photography as a hobby since high school. He has taken photos in more than 30 countries over the past 40 years. He has used dozens of cameras (both film and digital), has utilized his own wet darkroom, and has been focused strictly on the digital format since 2000. Lightroom is his editing software of choice, but he also uses Topaz and Photoshop to fill the gaps LrC doesn’t cover.
Ron has taught electronics, math, self-help classes, and photography throughout his career. Teaching experience includes: Wisconsin School of Electronics, Ivy Tech Kokomo, IU Kokomo, Delphi Electronics. Currently, he shares his knowledge with local camera Danville, Indiana clubs via Zoom as well as live classes.
