John makes his classes engaging and fun. He is an entertaining instructor who wants students to focus on the class more than notes. You’ll find his class materials are very thorough. Also, playing along is easy with the sample files provided. John uses Photoshop Pro, Affinity Photo and Premiere Pro on a daily basis along with a few crucial plug-ins.

His teaching experience includes Ivy Tech and MediaWright Workshops – a company John started to teach the suite of products from Adobe. Also, he has been teaching Photoshop classes at Roberts since March of 2020. Besides teaching photo classes, John leads an indoor cycling training group on Zwift.

A a lifelong professional photographer and Photoshop user, John’s early professional experience includes church directories, portraits and weddings. In the 90s, he transitioned to commercial photography and opened a studio in the Stutz Business Center downtown Indy. From then on his work centered on architectural photography, business portraits and product photography. He was honored to be the commissioned photographer for the Indianapolis International Airport and Lucas Oil Stadium.

Recently John’s been working a lot in video providing services to not-for-profits. He’s made videos for churches that serve the poor, Freewheelin’ Community Bikes, the Homeless Veterans Assistance Foundation and Back on My Feet.
