Photoshop – Portrait Retouching

Photoshop – Portrait Retouching

Portrait retouching is an art. The art of imperceptible alteration to an image – making the imperfect perfect. Whether you are removing blemishes, whitening teeth, smoothing skin, perking up lipstick, slimming or removing glare from glasses, retouching is a critical part of the creative portrait process. This class will show you how to use the tools in Photoshop to enhance your work. A fundamental knowledge of Photoshop is helpful for this class. Class files will be provided along with comprehensive notes. We teach to the latest version of Photoshop which is 2022. Legacy versions of PS are not addressed.

Online students can “play along” with the instructor with one of the following set-ups. Have two screens hooked up to your computer with the Zoom interface on one and Photoshop on the other. Or, have two computers with the Zoom interface on one and Photoshop on the other. Prior to class, a Dropbox link will be provided via email to download the class notes and the class files.

Q&A is encouraged during this online class. John will be polling you for questions on a regular basis. He’s also happy to look at your images if time allows.
